Welcome to Burghfield Residents Association

E-mail

Burghfield is an extensive Parish lying immediately to the south-west of Reading. It is bisected by the M4 motorway and is bounded by Grazeley and Wokefield to the east, Sulhamstead to the west and Mortimer to the South. Burghfield Common, the principal settlement lies south of the motorway, as does Burghfield Village and the hamlets of Burghfield Hill and Sheffield Bottom. Burghfield Bridge and Pingewood are hamlets lying within the Parish to north of the M4.

The non-profit-making Burghfield Residents Association was established in 1986, as the Burghfield Village Residents Association, to protect and preserve the existing rural character of Burghfield and to represent the interests of local residents. The present name was adopted in 2004 to emphasise that the Association seeks to represent residents throughout the Parish, and not just those from Burghfield Village. Membership is free, and is open to anyone living in Burghfield or the surrounding area.

MayFayre 2010 - Summary of a not quite Summery day

Fantastic turnout for the May Fayre, and especially for the Barn Dance.

Huge thanks for everyone who attended and to all the exhibitors, trade stands, grub, beer, ice creams, charities, churches, demos, comepetitors and judges - especial thanks of course to you the general public. And a very special thanks to the Chinook team for another spectacular display - and their warm friendly informative chats with the kids and adults who ventured into the aircraft.

Photos are now available to view in our Gallery. If you have a memorable photo which you wish to share on the website, please email using the contacts page on this website. May Fayre 2010 programme click here to see what you might have missed.

We are all looking forward to next years event - which will be even better than this year! So invite all your friends and family for the 2nd Sunday in May 2011 - 8th May.

Our next project - in conjunction with Burghfield St Marys Church - the Big Lunch - on Sunday 18th July 2010 - see www.thebiglunch.com (or follow our website for details)

Barn Dance and May Fayre Pictures

E-mail

After being asked by quite a few people about seeing the images after the event and the possibility of purchasing them I decided to put them online. I am pleased to say that the gallery is now live and images from the Barn dance and the May Fayre can be viewed from the link below. The gallery is called Burghfield Dance & May Fayre and 20% of sales will be donated to the Help the Heroes campaign. I had a really great time and everyone worked so hard, I really hope these images reflect that plus the enjoyment that everyone seemed to be having!

Thank you!  Carli x
